My web name is CoachT. The idea for a website and blog for our rugby icon came about when I first graduated from College, but I didn’t have enough resources and skills to build a home for our rugby great on the Internet. I have searched the web for other sports superstar websites, yet I did not find one for our very own maestro.

Finally in the last couple of months, I was able to acquire the domain names serevi.org and waisaleserevi.com to begin the project of building the site. My effort to register serevi.com and serevi.net failed because the names was already taken.

Let us not forget that it is illegal to use a name that we are not associated with, just to gain from it. Now, the maestro himself can file a lawsuit against this owners but he has enough on his plate to worry about that. If we really need to, we will; but not at this time. Remember, that Mcdonalds food chain lawsuit which Mcdonalds won, and also Fiji Rugby Union (fijirugby.com) lawsuit against the previous owners of the domain filed under ICANN (the internet governing body) which they succeeded in registering that under FRU.

I have consulted the man himself, Wais or Small, as we call him from Nasole, and Nadera, Nasinu area, and he is happy about the idea of a webiste. He was concerned that someone had already bought the domain waisaleserevi.com which expired this year, and I assured him that this domain name is in our hands and cannot be taken away again. Domain now guarded by fierce warriors from the “tauvus” from Cakau islands.

The irony behind all this is that the first person to subscribe to the blog was Waisale’s eldest daughter, Una Serevi who was just surfing the net and found a website about his dad. This was way before I contacted Wais about the website idea. It is indeed a very small world.

“I was just looking through the net for news about dad when I found your website. I was totally surprised but really happy knowing some people still cared about what dad’s done for Fiji rugby.” Una said.

That made me smile and grateful for all the support I’ve been getting so far.

Anyway, the blog is here for friends, families, and fans to submit your thoughts about what should be done to Serevi’s new site. Please be patient as we are still updating the site for our mega star. -CoachT
